Sal Annunziato, Managing Principal

Sal Annunziato is using his 25 years of management experience in the computer hardware and networking markets, and a unique instinct for the needs of the public sector, to provide the vision and executive savvy that place Nexgen as the Connecticut standard in law enforcement technology.

Since joining Nexgen as its Managing Principal in 2000, Sal repositioned the company to provide end to end solutions under a vertical integration strategy. This approach allows the latest advancements in high technology to be seamlessly integrated into law enforcement and public safety environments. Sal’s goals of flexibility and speed to market ensures that every Nexgen client receive the latest solutions that keep providing the highest levels of public safety.

Sal also forged key industry alliances that include: DELL, Netmotion, EZ Street Draw, Docview and Firehouse Software.

Prior to joining Nexgen, Sal was co-founder and president of Databyte International of Branford, a leading provider of hardware and networking products and services to municipal and educational institutions nationwide. Under his direction, Databyte grew to more than $15 million in annual sales, led by Sal’s creation of a Services Division, long before that business model became an industry standard.
Annunziato is active in various community affairs. He volunteers at The Way Back in Durham CT. He is a certified yoga teacher as well as a singer songwriter.

Lee Wezenski, Chief Development Officer

As one of NexGen's co-founders, Lee Wezenski combines his passion for police work with a strong history of creating robust enterprise applications, each of which was instrumental in his development of NexGen's Law Enforcement Administration System (LEAS).

Wezenski brings more than 18 years of technical expertise in software development to NexGen, combined with 16 years as a Supernumerary Officer in the Branford PD. This combination of high tech and police skills helps him design products and services grounded on the needs of public safety organizations, and the unique set of circumstances they confront in their day-to-day activities on the job.

His technology background also includes posts at Dun and Bradstreet Software, where he honed most of his client /server skills maintaining and developing accounting software for Fortune 500 companies.

A veteran of the US Air Force, Wezenski possessed a Top Secret security clearance while working aboard the Looking Glass and the E-4B (the President's plane). He holds a BS from Boston College and attended the University of Nebraska, where he studied math and computer science.

Tim Murray, Chief Technical Officer

Tim Murray joined NexGen in early 2001, and manages the company's suite of networked and wireless law enforcement applications, and the installation of its integrated software solutions. Murray brings to NexGen extensive experience in the networking environment from his former company, Greenwich Technology, where he supervised networked applications at the UCONN Health Center and the NASDQ Stock Exchange in New York City.

He started his computer industry career while attending a Magnet High School in New Haven. The City's Board of Education wanted to offer computers to students, and Murray led the way to help acquire, install and network 40 PCs. He did such a good job that the Board asked him to provide that same expertise for other New Haven schools.

He is a graduate of Southern Connecticut University with an MIS concentration. Off the job, Murray is a Lieutenant in the Branford Volunteer Fire Department.

Ms. Jaime Cahill, Regional Sales Manager

Ms. Jaime Cahill is the new Regional Sales Manager for NexGen Public Safety Services. Jaime has a legacy in the public safety field, growing up around local Fire Departments, her Dad was the Assistant Fire Chief in East Haven for 38 years.

For the past decade, she worked extensively with local and state governments, building relationships with Police & Fire Chiefs nationwide to assist agencies in adopting leading edge technologies to improve their public safety operations.
“ Jaime is the perfect fit for NexGen in this expansion stage of our growth”, says Sal Annunziato, company president. “ She brings a strong background in software solution sales, marketing development and contract negotiations. Her extensive knowledge of the public sector process is invaluable to our organization.”

Prior to joining NexGen, Jaime was a Regional Territory Manager for Sigma Communications, providing emergency notification solutions for Department of Homeland Security, State Police, DOIT, Local Police and Fire Departments nationwide. Working from Maine to New Jersey, she contributed over $11 million in sales, was recognized frequently as Top Sales Executive and became the company model for outside sales representatives.

Jaime is a graduate of The University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, AZ and holds a Bachelors of Applied Science in Architectural/ Civil Engineering.

Teri Johnson, Director of Training

Teri Johnson is responsible for designing and maintaining the entire suite of LEAS product documentation, from the online Help File to Quick Step guides. “Teri has become a valued product expert at NexGen, testimony to her skills on the entire LEAS user interface, on which she keeps constantly abreast of all product features, applying that expertise to Training, Documentation, and Support”, says Sal Annunziato, CEO.

She joined NexGen in 1999 and became fully involved in the implementation and rollout of the product at new client sites, from pre-implementation (advance training of key staff at client site), to structured training classes, to standby onsite support following the go-live to ease transitions. Teri also maintains ongoing relationships with clients through Tier 1 support.

Additional post sale responsibilities include the gathering and coordination of Enhancement requests, which focuses on research, tracking, testing, and rollout of requests made by customers. Teru also goes into the field to meet with police personnel to stay informed of their needs, to implement enhancements, and provide constantly-improving training and documentation.

Teri is a graduate from the University of Connecticut.

Robert Flodquist, Technician/Training Associate

Robert Flodquist joined Nexgen after retiring from the East Haven Police Department in 2006 and provides Nexgen customers with technical support and training.

Flodquist, a highly decorated police officer, brings 22 years of law enforcement ,15 years of law enforcement instruction and technical experience to Nexgen. Flodquist was a adjunct faculty member of the Connecticut Police Academy, basic training section. Also as the Training Coordinator for the East Haven Police Department, Flodquist conducted regional in-service training for police officers, crime prevention and safety classes for the community and played a key role in the planning of disaster drills at Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport. Additionally, Flodquist served as Chairman of the Greater New Haven Domestic Violence Task Force, a multi-disciplinary task force charged with developing a planned response to domestic violence using all available resources.

In addition to his extensive training background, Flodquist brings years of technical knowledge to Nexgen. In late 1997, when Flodquist was assigned to the administrative division, the East Haven Police Department only had 3 computers in the entire police department and relied on a paper filing system for all of it's records. In 1999 Flodquist was charged with the task of computerizing the entire police department. After selecting a vendor, Flodquist installed the servers and workstations and arranged training for all the department's employee's. After the system was installed, Flodquist was responsible for the day to day maintenance of the servers, workstations and network. Flodquist also wrote a program that produced photo identification cards for all town employees. Flodquist also maintained the police department website and developed an application that published the weekly arrest log on the website.

Flodquist is a graduate of the F.B.I Instructor Development School, has a certificate in Client Server Application Development from Connecticut Community College Workforce Development Institute and attended the University of New Haven where he majored in forensic science and Gateway Community College where he majored in computer science.

Dave Burns, Help Desk Support

Dave Burns brings to Nexgen an extensive background in law enforcement technology.

He joined the company in 2006 after 12 years as the IT/Business Manager for the Madison Police Department. In that post, he established and maintained the Department’s computer network and also worked with the town’s IT Department on special projects such as wireless networks and database interface development.

At Nexgen Dave is responsible for Help Desk Support In house, updating and upgrading version releases to clients remotely on LEAS. He is versed in PowerBuilder, Visual Basic, and SQL Server programming languages. Dave also assists clients with routine local support and the development of form updates and any changes within LEAS. His depth of knowledge is a big asset in assisting Nexgen customers to maximize their LEAS solutions.

Dave’s expertise in computer technology was honed over 17 years as vice president of Transglobal Distribution in the executive world. Trans Global distributes magazines worldwide. As a software and network pioneer, he created an interface to allow customers to preload orders via magnetic tape with a conversion program to change the format from EPSIDIC to ASCII. Bills of lading were transmitted electronically to destination distributors and publishers had the ability to track their deliveries at a time when electronic data transmission was in its infancy.

Dave is a longtime member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department, where he serves as Treasurer and puts his extensive technology skills to work. His contributions have ranged from establishing a secure network, setting up internet access via a secure wireless network, and setting a secure in-house Ambulance billing program.

Dave attended Gateway Community College where he studied computer programming. He holds Certificates from Cisco and Microsoft in network security.
